My little girl skips into my room
Her smile still touches my heart
The same as it did the day she was born
I've loved her from the start
As my son sits in my lap
I think how all this came to be
The little feet I look at now
What will they take him to see
I wonder what will they go through
I look in their face and can only stare
Who will they marry, how bout children
Will they feel heartache or despair
What will they become
Maybe a mom, maybe a dad
Will they follow in my foosteps
Or have opportunities I never had
As I ponder on all of this
The memories fly into my mind
The first time I held them
The way their fingers gripped mine
There are always moments
Throughout every day
I'll not want to forget
I hope they never fade
As I watch them both grow up
And realize how time flies
Today, they are my little ones
Tomorrow, could be goodbye
If nothing else, I hope they know
God's watching all the time
And remember that I love them
And will always call them mine
I look in their face and can only stare
Who will they marry, how bout children
Will they feel heartache or despair
What will they become
Maybe a mom, maybe a dad
Will they follow in my foosteps
Or have opportunities I never had
As I ponder on all of this
The memories fly into my mind
The first time I held them
The way their fingers gripped mine
There are always moments
Throughout every day
I'll not want to forget
I hope they never fade
As I watch them both grow up
And realize how time flies
Today, they are my little ones
Tomorrow, could be goodbye
If nothing else, I hope they know
God's watching all the time
And remember that I love them
And will always call them mine
