How do you sketch out how your life will be
You can start with an outline; don't just wait and see
To add more to this sketch, be sure to you a pencil
Or at least washable ink and don't use a stencil
Otherwise you'd be just like all the other fools
Who take out their permanent markers and tools
They're rendering themselves helpless
Life is guaranteed to change
For better or worse, it will rearrange
So just when you think your drawing is ready
To add the deep shading; you think life is steady
And all the watercolor paints you want to use to add spice
Always hoping for things to come out so very nice
No finishing touches will you be able to add
The smiles, the good times don't always outweigh the bad
On the opposite end of the spectrum you'll find
The change is good and you won't really mind
The outline you sketched at the beginning of time
The one you believed had reason and rhyme
Needed an eraser to make it have good sense
It needed to be bigger; it needed more resonance
They say that some things can be larger than life
What could be larger than life without strife
